Christmas White Trash Snack Mix Recipe
Tis the season for festive snacks! It’s the one time of year you don’t have to feel guilty about having glass jars and plastic bags of sweets on the counter! (HA) And this Christmas White Trash Snack Mix Recipe is no exception. It’s as beautiful as the fresh fallen snow and lasts at room temperature for weeks on the counter.

When can I make this Christmas White Trash Snack Mix Recipe?
Let’s be honest. During the holiday season, we are always whipping up a sweet treat to leave out on the counter for company or little kids. I don’t know if the temperatures drop and we are looking for warmth (hence the snacking) or if the Christmas music sparks inexplicable feelings of joy that drive us to indulge in our favorite candies, cookies, and more!
Fun Fact: My grandmother had homemade fudge on her countertops all year, not just during the holidays. She didn’t want anyone leaving her house without being fully satisfied, and there seems to be a belief in the South that you’re not done until you’ve had dessert!
Why make this Christmas White Trash Snack Mix Recipe?
I like this version of a white chocolate trail mix for several reasons. One reason is that it’s coated in powdered sugar, which reminds me of my favorite wedding cake cookies. They are simple almond-flavored cookies covered in powdered sugar, and I adore them!
I also like this sweet and salty treat for more practical reasons! First of all, storage is a breeze. You don’t have to refrigerate this simple recipe, and that’s a big deal! If there’s one thing that everyone seems to be short on during the holiday season, it’s fridge space. But don’t be surprised if this Christmas trash doesn’t last a long time. It’s so good, it’s hard to keep people out of it!
Be Sure To Pin It For Later!
Another thing I like about this Christmas white trash recipe is that it’s super easy to customize. I used walnuts in this recipe because they were what I had on hand, but you could easily swap them for salty peanuts or pecans, and it would be equally as good. (I only used 1/2 cup of nuts because my kids don’t like nuts; feel free to add more.)

You can also do a different mixture of cereals for a change in texture. Cheerios would work well in this easy snack. Or you can opt for vanilla almond bark instead of white chocolate chips.
You could also use milk chocolate for this Christmas snack mix because the white powdered sugar will cover up the brown chocolate.
Can I make Christmas White Trash Snack Mix Recipe as a gift?
This white trash Chex mix also makes a great holiday gift. I like to put it in glass jars and tie a beautiful Christmas ribbon around the jar. You can use it as teacher gifts, party favors, or a special treat for a great neighbor.
Tips for Christmas White Trash Snack Mix Recipe:
- If you choose to omit the powdered sugar for a less messy version of this “white trash candy,” then after covering the dry ingredients with the melted white chocolate, spread the white chocolate Chex mix onto parchment paper or wax paper in a single layer and cool in the fridge for 5 minutes. Then, you can break it apart like Christmas bark.
