Viral Shrimp and Crab Sushi Bake Recipe
Sushi is a special treat in my house, and we have a family-favorite restaurant with the BEST SUSHI in our area. But it’s over 45 minutes away from where we live, so we don’t get to indulge very often. We have made sushi at the house before, and it turned out pretty good, so I was super excited when I ran across a version of sushi that’s easy to make at home on TikTok. Let me introduce my Viral Shrimp and Crab Sushi Bake Recipe to you!
Sharing is caring!

This viral sushi bake is so wonderful for many different reasons. First, it is so simple to make and takes the intimidating factor out of making traditional sushi at home for those who are hesitant. Second, it’s great for kids because they can help put it together, and in the end, they can assemble their rolls right at the table!
Think of it like a deconstructed sushi roll that can be customized into a thousand different sushi bake variations! Try out different proteins (if you aren’t a fan of crab or shrimp), different kinds of rice (white rice, Japanese rice, sticky sushi rice), bold seasonings, and even change up the sushi vegetables.

Here are some great options for you after making my recipe and getting the hang of the process:
- Deconstructed California Roll: Avocado, crab, and cucumber make a delicious and fresh combination. I would add the avocado and cucumber after baking.
- Spicy Salmon Bake: Delicious cooked salmon is mixed with crab and spicy mayo, baked, and rolled with your favorite toppings.

Sushi bake recipes are an easy way to introduce your whole family to the flavors of sushi if they are skeptical. The best part about this idea is that you won’t be wasting a ton of money at a sushi restaurant if they aren’t fans of the experience.

You can also put your best foot forward by asking them which ingredients they would like to add to this viral TikTok dish to increase their likelihood of liking and eating it. (I always think about this because I have a picky crew.) Then, they can build their own perfect bite!

Tips for this Viral Shrimp and Crab Sushi Bake Recipe:
- Make the rice ahead of time. It’s easier to use if it’s cold rather than freshly cooked and hot.
- Sticky sushi rice is the BEST. (I just don’t have that option in my local grocery store.)
