Easy and Delicious Creamy Tacos
As a kid I would frequently visit my aunt and uncle’s house especially on Saturday nights after church. They would always have snacks and games ready for all of the pre-teens and teens in order to give us something to do. We lived out in the middle of nowhere and we wanted to just hang out and have fun with our friends and their house was the perfect place just for that. There was pool, table tennis, videogames, and more to keep us entertained for hours. And on the table would be a big pot of Easy and Delicious Creamy Tacos right alongside rice Krispy treats and plenty of chips and dip. It was good times for sure!
Since becoming an adult, I have made this very same recipe not only for my family, but also for my students. It is so easy to make that it’s surprising to me how much they all like it! It’s very close to Rotel dip but it’s not that. And it is similar to taco soup, but it’s not that either. It’s kind of a love child between the two. LOL. It’s familiar enough that they all want to try it but different enough that they act like they’ve never had it! Either way… it’s a WIN!
easy and delicious creamy tacos recipe:
Equipment needed:
- Deep pot
Protein needed:
- 1 lb. ground deer meat (You can substitute beef)
Pantry items:
- 1 (15 oz.) can Ranch Style Beans
- 1 (12 oz.) can evaporated milk
- 1 lb. Velveeta cheese (I cut mine into strips or cubes so that it will melt faster)
- 1 (10 oz.) can Rotel
Seasonings/Spices:
- 1 package taco seasoning
easy and delicious creamy tacos instructions:
- First, brown your 1 lb. ground deer meat in the pot until it’s cooked through.
- Second, add your taco seasoning and mix into the meat really well. Let the seasonings get warmed through and incorporated into the meat before you start adding any liquids.
- Third, add the Rotel, Ranch style beans, and evaporated milk.
- Next, place your cubed Velveeta cheese into the pot and stir.
- Make sure that you stay close to your pot because you don’t want to burn your creamy tacos and Velveeta cheese has a tendency to stick to the bottom of the pot if you don’t watch it.
- Once everything is completely melted and mixed really well, it’s time to plate it up!
- Place some Fritos into a bowl and scoop some creamy tacos on top and enjoy! (You can also add extra toppings if you like: sour cream, cilantro, guacamole, green onions, etc…)
be sure to pin it for later!
