Strawberry Santas with Cream Cheese Icing
Look no further if you are always searching for a cute and delicious treat to serve during the upcoming Holiday season. These Strawberry Santas with Cream Cheese Icing are beautiful and tasty! And don’t worry about spending unlimited hours in the kitchen. This sweet snack comes together quickly and can be made in advance.
Is there a better combination in the dessert section than cream cheese and fresh ripe strawberries? I think not! These cute little Santas capture the season’s magic while offering fresh fruit with just a hint of sugar. The cream cheese frosting also adds a nice tanginess and a creamy texture to the sweet strawberries. While that may not seem important, I beg to differ.
Sharing is caring!
My kids love fruit, but if I neglect to put it as an option on the table, they will inevitably reach for the cookies, cake, and candy every single time. They are so overloaded with sugar in their everyday life, so I like to bring fruit to the forefront whenever possible to offer a sweet alternative.
While I love EVERYTHING about the Christmas season, especially the food, I often feel it is carb-heavy and saturated with so much sugar that I feel bloated and slightly sick. As I’ve gotten older, I’ve diligently tried to incorporate more fruits and vegetables into the dinner and dessert table to alleviate these uncomfortable side effects of delicious but incredibly unhealthy food.
Be Sure To Pin It For Later!
Another thing that makes this sweet treat irresistible is that it is shaped like little Santas! (I don’t know why, but they are much more fun when things are miniature versions of themselves.) This will also entice the kiddos to try them.
What are the benefits of eating more strawberries?
This cute dessert is also perfect for warmer weather, especially during Summer, the strawberry season where I live. But instead of making Santas, chop up the strawberries, place them in a medium bowl, and toss them with a cream cheese glaze. (Thin the glaze with the same icing ingredients by adding heavy cream.)
For another delicious variation:
Homemade Strawberry Cake Salad
- Bake a white cake mix.
- Let the cake cool to room temperature.
- Chop the moist cake into small squares.
- Add the cake, chopped fresh strawberries, and cream cheese frosting to a large bowl.
- Toss with whipped cream, sift confectioners’ sugar over the top, and serve!
Optional elements for the Strawberry Cake Salad:
- Add a little lemon zest and lemon juice to the strawberries for an extra brightness in flavor.
- Add strawberry extract to the whipped cream for another layer of strawberry goodness!
- Cutting strawberry jello into small squares would compliment the fresh strawberry flavor well.
- Add strawberry jam to the cream cheese to make a sweet strawberry icing.
Tips for Strawberry Santas with Cream Cheese Icing:
- Place the chopped strawberries, cut side down, on paper towels to absorb the extra liquid. If you skip this step, the cream cheese frosting will slide off the strawberries, and you won’t have Santa’s anymore!
