What are some of my favorite things about this sweet treat?
The first thing that really draws me to this easy recipe is the fact that it uses three different types of chocolate. In my opinion, this gives an interesting depth of flavor to the bark because you have white chocolate, which is very sweet. You have milk chocolate, that brings in some creaminess. And finally, you have dark chocolate, that introduces a little bitterness to break up the sweet.
What is the best part of this Easy Peppermint Chocolate Christmas Bark?
I also love the fact that there are so many textures in this Christmas bark. The chocolate itself is smooth and creamy. It melts easily and provides the perfect base for lots crunchy toppings. I’ve chosen to add M&M’s, cookies, and crushed peppermint for a variety of texture and flavor. The Biscoff cookies are nice and warm with hints of cinnamon and gingerbread. While the peppermint adds a nice spice that pairs so perfectly with chocolate. And finally the M&M’s are a candy coating crunch for the kiddos.

What can I do with traditional peppermint bark?
Another thing I love about the Christmas bark is that it makes for a great holiday gift. During this time of year, there seems to be a gift-giving celebration at every turn. From the church Christmas party and school functions, to teacher gifts and neighborhood gatherings. Noone wants to show up empty handed. A homemade gifts really shows that you care enough to make something from scratch. Simply place small pieces of this holiday bark into a cellophane bag and tie closed with Beautiful red and green ribbon.
Where did the candy cane originate?
For a fun twist, set out this classic peppermint bark for Santa on Christmas Eve instead of cookies. (It still goes great with milk!) And guess what? If Santa doesn’t finish his easy treat, no worries. Another great thing about this simple recipe is its shelf life. You can store this Easy Pepperming Chocolate Christmas Bark in the fridge for up to six weeks! And if you just leave it at room temperature, it’s still good for at least two weeks.

Easy Peppermint Chocolate Christmas Bark Ingredients:
- 2 (4 oz.) white chocolate bars
- 2 (4 oz.) milk chocolate bars
- 4 Biscoff cookies (crumbled)
- 2 (4 oz.) dark chocolate bars
- 2 peppermint candy canes (crushed)
- 1/2 cup of M&M’s
Easy Peppermint Chocolate Christmas Bark Instructions:
- First, preheat the oven to the lowest setting. My oven will only go as low as 170 degrees F.
- Second, cover a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- Third, lay the chocolate bars end to end alternating between flavors on the parchment-lined baking sheet. For example: white chocolate, milk chocolate, and then dark chocolate.
- Next, place the chocolate into the oven to melt gently. This should take about 5 minutes. (You don’t want the chocolate so melted that it runs everywhere. You just want it soft enough to swirl with a chopstick.)
- Once the chocolate is melty and soft, take it out of the oven and immediately swirl the different chocolate bar flavors together to make a marbled effect.
- Then, sprinkle the M&M’s all over the melted chocolate.
- Next, sprinkle the crumbled Biscoff cookies onto the chocolate and press the pieces into the chocolate to make sure that they stick.
- After the cookies, sprinkle the bark with the crushed candy canes.
- Place the cookie sheet into the freezer or fridge for at least 10 minutes to set.
- Finally, break the Peppermint Chocolate Christmas Bark into pieces and place into bags and enjoy a sample right away!
What are some variations to this Easy Peppermint Chocolate Christmas Bark?
- Use melted almond bark instead of chocolate candy bars.
- Rice Krispies as a topping would be fantastic! It would add a completely different type of crunch that I think kids would love.
- Mini marshmallows on top offer a nice chew and match the Christmas time theme. The pops of white would be perfect against the chocolate background.
- Adding Roasted almonds or raw almonds would elevate this Christmas bark recipe to appeal to adults.
- A single layer of Christmas sprinkles on top of the chocolate would be the easiest way to “decorate” this bark and create “Christmas crack.”
- If peppermint is just not in the cards for your crew, (I have one.) then leave the candy canes out and replace with peanut butter or even cookie butter. Just swirl the butters into the chocolate before layering the toppings.
